Thursday, May 19, marks the end of the Spring 2011 session of ASAP.

A closing reception (5:30 6:30 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 600 Sixth Avenue downtown Des Moines) features a presentation of works created by each studio AND the unveiling of two student paintings commissioned by the attorneys Fred Schneider, William Stiles, William Serangeli, Ron Mountsier, and Amy Plummer, members of the Dickinson Law Firm.

Thanks and congratulations to our hard-working and creative ASAP students, led by talented and caring leaders in the following studios:

  • Painting, with Teaching Artist Beth Ann Edwards
  • Screen Printing, with Teaching Artist Tim Schmitt
  • Playwriting & Performance, with Teaching Artist Yvette Zaród Hermann
  • Drawing, with Teaching Artist Toni Lampley
  • Photography, with Teaching Artist Megan Clausen

Artists - Get Involved!

ASAP's programming depends upon the involvement of local artists!  If you'd be interested in leading a studio, contact us.

" ASAP provides free quality arts experiences to children who may otherwise not have the opportunity to experience and explore the arts. These opportunities—to become immersed in art, to work in-depth with adult guidance, and to experience success—change lives. "
