Make Art with ASAP at Riverview Ruckus

ASAP hosts a hands-on art outreach at the inaugural “Riverview Ruckus” back-to-school event organized by Young Variety. The event, held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Riverview Park, supports Findley Elementary students and families as they prepare for the return-to-school season. Participants can enjoy making two art projects with ASAP: beautiful bookmarks made with liquid watercolors; and “Ruckus Rocks” featuring original designs with acrylic paint pens. Participants will be assisted by nine high-school-age ASAP volunteers, as well as ASAP Board Member Emily Webb, Executive Director Michelle Bolton King, and Program Manager Stacie Couvillon. Young Variety is the young professionals’ arm of Variety—the Children’s Charity of Iowa. Through Young Variety, young professionals in the Des Moines area have the opportunity to give back to the community, improve the lives of local children, and meet new people. ASAP is a proud grantee of Variety—the Children’s Charity.
