ASAP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our programming relies upon individual charitable contributions and grants from foundations, corporations and governmental entities. ASAP program participants are invited to contribute a $10 enrollment fee to demonstrate their commitment to the program, its values and expectations, but all participation costs are paid by the organization. No student is denied access to ASAP based on inability to pay.

ASAP strives to maintain low overhead. Core programming is administered by two contract staff members, and approved instructors receive a modest stipend for their services. Contributions support direct delivery of services to participating children.

In school year 2016–17, ASAP is on track to serve nearly 1,800 student enrollments, many of them underwritten by the generosity of individual sponsors. All donations to ASAP are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Materials or services

In addition to volunteering and making a cash donation, another way to get involved with ASAP is to donate goods. Items are needed based on the studios being offered in a given time, but some items are always appreciated: Buttons; Cloth Ribbon (thicker widths especially); Chenille Stems (pipe cleaners, in all colors).
